Investment casting
Investment casting is also called "lost wax casting" when railway casting manufacturers use wax as pattern. Investment casting usually refers to the casting scheme that the pattern is made of fusible materials, the railway casting manufacturer covers several layers of refractory materials on the pattern surface to make the pattern shell, then melts the pattern out of the pattern shell, so as to obtain the pattern of non parting surface, which can be filled with sand poured after high temperature roasting. Because wax materials are widely used to make patterns, investment casting is often called "lost wax casting".
Investment casting is also called wax loss method. The lost wax method is to use wax to make molds of the objects to be cast, then to coat the wax molds with mud, which is called mud molds. After the clay mould is dried, it is roasted into a pottery mould. Once roasted, all wax molds are melted lost, leaving only pottery molds. Generally, the casting port is left when making mud mold, then the copper liquid is poured into the casting port. After cooling, the required utensils are made.
The alloy types that can be produced by investment casting include carbon steel, alloy steel, heat-resistant alloy, stainless steel, precision alloy, permanent magnet alloy, bearing alloy, copper alloy, aluminum alloy, titanium alloy nodular cast iron
